1. Lectio Divina Prayer technique - Using Romans 6:1-13 follow the four steps of Divine Reading:

a) Read the passage slowly, be attentive to the words,

b) Meditate on how the passage connects to your personal life,

c) Pray about a specific verse or thought that God is revealing to you,

d) Contemplate what God has shown you and his incredible grace to reveal this truth to you.

2. ‘The Good News is that Jesus absorbed all death in his death.’

a) How is it good news?

b) How did the sermon wrestle with this statement?

c) Do you believe it fully?

d) How does it help you make sense of pain and suffering?

3.  Study: Read Isaiah 53:3-11…

a) List the specific things that happened to Jesus and their purpose.

b) Which part of his death most affects you?

c) Why did Jesus have to be punished by death?  Was there no other way?

4. Reading: Why did Christ die? CLICK HERE (The Cross of Christ, ch.2, John Stott). An insightful reading that assess the culpability of Judas, the Jews and Pilate in Jesus' death while revealing the true reasons he had to die in the final pages.
