Sermon Notes

Scattered
Sent #2 | Olivia Waller. Jesus was sent to reveal the Father to the world, and now He sends us to do the same. Through the book of Acts, this series explores what it means to live on mission, empowered by the Holy Spirit to reflect Christ and make Him known wherever we go.

Discussion Questions

  • The believers in Acts were scattered into different places, but they continued to proclaim Jesus wherever they went. What makes it difficult for believers in our modern, Australian context to share the good news of Jesus?
  • Read Acts 8:1–8. What stands out about how God uses persecution to advance the gospel? How might this shape the way we think about suffering, change, or unexpected circumstances in our own lives?
  • Looking at the examples in Acts 5–8 (Ananias & Sapphira, Sanhedrin, Simon, the Ethiopian eunuch), which response do you find yourself most challenged by? What helps you keep your heart open to God’s word?
